Share Bears Bingo and Ugly Sweater Day
Friday’s bingo group has fun celebrating pretty much anything. Our players brought out their unique and interesting Christmas wear for our annual ugly sweater day. Join us for Friday bingo; we have a good time. It’s an ideal activity for those who don’t want to participate in the more involved PebbleCreek activities. We meet Fridays in the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom at 10:30 a.m. for social time, and bingo games begin at 11 a.m. Bring $3 in quarters to play 10 games plus two optional. It’s a fun Kare Bears activity!
Seeking Volunteers to Deliver Source Books
Tracey Schryver
The Kare Bears House is still seeking volunteers to help deliver the 2025 Source Book. The delivery date has not yet been determined, but we are anticipating a mid to late February timeframe.
If you have volunteered in the past, you should have received an email to determine if this remains something you’re willing to participate in once again. You must reply to the email in order to remain on the volunteer list.
Additional volunteers are still needed to help out. This is especially true for our newer units as well as replacing volunteers who may have given up their position.
If you are willing to help, please send your name, unit and lot number, email address, and telephone contact to: [email protected].
While we cannot guarantee you will deliver in your own unit, we will do our best to accommodate your needs. Volunteers will pick up their lot of Source Books at 15383 W. Cheery Lynn Lane (Eagle’s Nest side). Once you receive the books, you will place the book and map into a bag before delivering to the unit assigned. We look forward to hearing from you in hopes that you will be able to participate in this volunteering opportunity.
Volunteer Opportunities
Tracey Schryver
Kare Bears is seeking volunteers for a variety of positions. We are looking for some tech savvy people who are willing to donate their time for a wonderful cause. If you have experience with hardware, software, database management, or web design, we’d love for you to join our Kare Bears IT team. For more information, please email us at [email protected].
If IT isn’t your thing, perhaps driving for Kare Bears interests you. Your role would be providing community members with transportation to and from medical appointments. In this role, you can set your own schedule, be reimbursed for mileage, and be fulfilled knowing you helped someone in need. For more information on how to become a Kare Bears driver, please visit the website at Karebears.org and click on the volunteer link.
Kare Bears Is Modernizing
Tracey Schryver
The Kare Bears office is in the process of transitioning to their new computer system. This paperless system will help to streamline how Kare Bears delivers our services to the community.
When borrowing medical equipment, you will be entered into our computerized database and then you will select the equipment you are in need of.
When requesting transportation to a medical appointment, you will still call the Kare Bears House and provide the office volunteer with your information. The office volunteer will log this into the computer system. Once a driver picks up the ride, they will call you directly to confirm. You will no longer receive a call back from Kare Bears.
While change can sometimes be difficult, we believe that this new system will provide our community with an even better system.
