Kare Bears’ annual meeting

Kare Bears leaders would appreciate seeing you at the annual meeting on October 23 at 11:00 a.m. in the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom.
The president will present an annual report to the membership and introduce the 2020 board members for membership approval.
Joining the board on January 1, 2020, will be president Tom Meek, treasurer Nancy Dodds, and Communications Director Shelley Carothers. Presently serving on the board with board approval, but needing membership approval are first vice president Don Belonax, second vice president Maureen Plate, and program director Teri Sellers. Returning board members are secretary Susan Fallon along with Health and Wellness co-directors Donna Blomquist and DeeDee Patrick.
The months of October, November, and December are overlap times for new and out-going board members.
The annual meeting will be brief followed by the monthly Kare Bears Presents.
As always, no reservations are required, and refreshments provided by Kare Bears volunteer bakers are free.

Join us in celebration of “The Golden Treasures of PebbleCreek”

Mark your calendar for Wednesday, November 13, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. in the Tuscany Ballroom for the annual fall luncheon to honor the Kare Bears organization and wonderful volunteers who dedicate their time to helping those who rely on the Kare Bears support.
Don Belonax will be selling tickets on Monday, September 30; Wednesday, October 2; and Friday, October 4 from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Eagle’s Nest Clubhouse kiosk. Ticket prices are $30.
During the luncheon, we will acknowledge the contributions of all Kare Bears volunteers and be taking time to thank those who have been special Friends of Kare Bears. Volunteers who have contributed in special ways will be presented Exceptional Volunteer awards and in honor of the Kare Bears founder, Rayma Scalzo, we will present our Founders Award to one outstanding volunteer of the year who has shown exemplary commitment and service to Kare Bears and the entire community.
We invite you to download the nomination forms for the Founders Award and Kare Bears Exceptional Volunteer Award via the Kare Bears website www.karebears.org or pick one up at the Kare Bears house. Completed nomination forms are to be submitted no later than September 25, 2019.
This year’s luncheon theme ‘The Golden Treasures of PebbleCreek’ will consist of a silent auction, raffles, lunch, awards and entertainment. Proceeds from the luncheon will help offset the operational costs of Kare Bear services. This year we will also be sharing a portion of our proceeds to our companion organizations in the west valley, Southwest Lending Closet and Benevilla.
