Kare Bears Board of Directors

The Kare Bears Board of Directors is making the following changes with the help of nominating committee members Sue White, Janis Korba and Gladys Mabey.

1. President Joyce Van Ornam will leave the board on December 31, 2019. President elect Tom Meek will be the new Kare Bears leader on January 1, 2020. Tom is a past Kare Bears president and former second vice president.

2. First vice president Larry Boress is moving and has resigned from the board. Don Belonax, a Kare Bears Coordinator since 2007, is his replacement. Don has also delivered Source Books, helped with the Bake Sale, transports people in his unit to bingo and will be chairing ticket sales for the November 2019 luncheon. He retired from Pfizer Consumer Product Division.

3. Second Vice President Susan Fallon has moved to secretary and will also work updating the Kare Bears data base as Information Specialist. Susan’s replacement already working as second VP is Maureen Plate. Maureen has been a house volunteer since 2007 and a Kare Bears Coordinator since 2016. She is a former high school business education teacher.

4. Program Director, Linda Jo Orinski, is moving and has resigned from the board. Her replacement is Teri Sellers, past Kare Bears president and former Program Director.

5. Betsy Porter, Communications Director, will leave the board on December 31, and will be replaced by Shelly Carothers. Shelly has a degree in business with a marketing emphasis. She is currently working remotely as a Marketing and Contract Specialist for a California company. Shelly will be Communications Director starting January 1, 2020.

6. Judy Ashley will be leaving the board as treasurer on December 31, 2019. As of June 7, 2019, the nominating committee is still interviewing applicants for the treasurer’s position.

Health and Wellness Co-directors Donna Blomquist and DeeDee Patrick will continue in their positions for the 2020 board year.
