The Kare Bears House will be changing to summer hours Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m.-noon May 1 to October 31. The house will be closed Saturdays and Sundays.

The Board of Directors has additional open positions as follows:

1. Communications Director starting October 2019, for three months overlap with the outgoing director. Beginning January 2020, the new person will be responsible for editing, revising and submitting Kare Bears articles to the Post, PebbleNews, the Kare Bears website and the e-group as requested by board members. The person filling this position will work closely with Special Marketing volunteers.

2. Programs Director starting June 2019, will be responsible for arranging presentations for Kare Bears Presents in September, October and January through June. This director will work closely with the Fall Luncheon and Spring Fling leaders.

The nominating committee members Janis Korba, Gladys Mabey and Sue White are presently interviewing for president, first vice president and secretary.

General surgery is a discipline that requires knowledge of and responsibility for the preoperative, operative and postoperative management of patients with a broad spectrum of diseases, including those which may require nonoperative, elective or emergency surgical treatment. The breadth and depth of this knowledge may vary by disease category. Surgical management requires skill in complex decision making; general surgeons should be competent in diagnosis as well as treatment and management, including operative intervention.

Dr Freeborn has certifications in the following areas: Fundamentals of Laparoscopic surgery, advanced trauma life support and advance cardiac life support.
