Volunteers needed for two community groups

Janet Miazga

Have you found that even among your commitments to golf, fitness classes, clubs, etc., you realize you have a few open hours per month that you would like to contribute to our PebbleCreek community? Two very important and necessary PC groups are currently looking for volunteers; perhaps one of these would satisfy your desire to help out! The time invested will be minimal, but the results will be huge. Please consider giving of your time to contribute to the community.

Every PC resident should be aware of the Kare Bears organization, a group of volunteers concerned about the welfare of their neighbors here in PebbleCreek. The main purpose of the organization is to assist and support residents who are ill or recuperating, dealing with a loss or caring for a spouse or loved one. The Kare Bear Coordinators’ responsibilities include welcoming new residents in their units and explaining the group’s purpose, sending out KB newsletters, visiting/ calling those who are sick, arranging rides to medical appointments, plus other forms of helping those in need.

Many units are large and utilize multiple KB Coordinators per sections. Here are the units which need a coordinator for specific lot sections: 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 18, 19, 21, 24, 25, 31, 36, 37, 44, 54, 55B, 55C, 57, 58. Many of these units may have a KB Coordinator for some sections, but need volunteers for others. If you live in one of these units and are interested in hearing more about this volunteer role, please contact Larry Boress, 1st Vice President KBs, at [email protected].

Volunteers are also needed to help fill the ranks of the Unit Contacts Group. Formerly Unit Reps, these men and women are an active group of volunteers willing to serve their neighbors and their community. Their responsibilities include being the one person their residents can count on to hold their unit together. They are to maintain an up-to-date unit directory and email address list, welcome new residents and introduce them to their neighbors, relay information between the HOA Board/management and their residents and, if so desired, oversee planning of social events for their unit.

It would be very helpful to have a volunteer in every unit who is willing to serve in that role and many new volunteers have stepped forward this year. Out of 61 current units, we only have a few which still need a contact person: units 4, 14, 16, 17, 20, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27C (lots 121-144, 214-283), 30, 36, 44, 55A and 55C. If you are a resident of any of these units and are interested in hearing more about what this volunteer role involves, please email Janet Miazga, Unit Contacts Group Coordinator, at [email protected].

Many thanks go out to all of those residents who have given their time in the past or currently do serve as a Kare Bear Coordinator or a Unit Contact; your participation is much appreciated by the residents of PebbleCreek.
