Kare Bears donates AED machine to Pickleball Club

Mike Crabtree, president of the Pickleball Club and Mary McMahon, president of Kare Bears, are holding the new AED machine which Kare Bears donated to the Pickleball Club this spring.

Kare Bears is happy to be able to provide this equipment for this large and very active club.

Spotlight on special volunteer coordinator of transportation

Did you know that Kare Bears provides temporary medical transportation for our residents who need rides to medical or therapy appointments? Linda Glazer, the second vice president of Kare Bears, is a special volunteer who coordinates this program.

Linda reported that in the last fiscal year 44 Kare Bears driver volunteers have driven 228 residents to 504 appointments for a total of 17,393.3 miles. Our volunteers give of their time freely to these residents. Many of them develop friendships with those they drive.

AFD/CPR class – July 24

Have you always wanted to learn CPR but never took the time? Well, here’s your opportunity to learn a lifesaving technique. The class will be held on Friday, July 24 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Tuscany Falls Ballroom. The AED/CPR defibrillator and resuscitation class is open to all employees and residents of PebbleCreek. The certified instructor does an excellent presentation with hands-on training in all equipment and techniques. For those looking to renew their certification, they also can attend this class.

The cost is $30 for residents and can be paid with cash or checks to AZ Pro CPR & First Aid LLC at the beginning of the class.

A sign-up sheet is in the Kare Bears folder at the Community Information Mailbox across from the Eagle’s Nest Pro Shop.

May donations

The Kare Bears Board of Directors wishes to acknowledge various donations received in May from the following residents:

Memorial contributions were received in memory of Walentina Elijew from Allen Yurko, Donna Danko and Andrea Delindik.
