We invite PebbleCreek residents to join Just Folks in celebrating the accomplishments of Black Americans during the month of February. Black History Month began in 1926 as National Negro Week by Dr. Carter G. Woodson. In 1976, President Gerald Ford decreed a national observance.
Just Folks is showcasing the Maya Angelou documentary And Still I Rise, which chronicles her life as an activist, author, poet, and dancer. To participate in viewing this documentary, please email [email protected] to register.
A link to the film will be emailed directly to you and will be available to view during the month of February in celebration of Black History Month. For more information, go to the LLL website.
Save the date, register by email, and enjoy the film!
