Join the search for one of the FBI’s most wanted

Lead Investigator, Paul Dalton

It’s a story that has been featured on every crime show including Dateline, 20/20, 48 Hours, American Greed and Crime TV. Now you can hear the inside story of the Jason Derek Brown case from retired Phoenix Police Department investigator, Paul Dalton. Dalton will be the guest speaker at the PebbleCreek Gun Club meeting on Monday, May 6, at 4:00 p.m. in the Chianti Room. The meeting is open to all residents of PebbleCreek.

Jason Derek Brown is a fugitive wanted for first degree murder and armed robbery in Phoenix on November 29, 2004. In December 2007, he was placed on the FBI’s list of the Ten Most Wanted. Brown is considered armed and extremely dangerous. Paul Dalton was lead investigator on the case and will share details of the case and how the police linked Brown to the murder.

An expert in crime scene investigation reconstruction and blood spatter interpretation, Dalton has worked hundreds of murder investigations and thousands of crime scene investigations. He was part of every serial killer investigation, including, most recently, the Cleophus Cooksey, Jr. investigation. Cooksey was responsible for at least 11 murders in Phoenix and Avondale; Dalton conducted his interview.

Dalton retired this January from the Phoenix Police Department after 29 years of service. Twenty of those years were in the Phoenix Homicide Unit. Prior experience includes two years of service in the Bolivar, NY Police Department, one year in the Arizona Department of Corrections (working Death Row).

Dalton currently teaches the Investigator Certification course and Search Warrant class at Rio Salado College. He is married with two grown daughters and two grandchildren.
