PebbleCreek Billiard Club members have wrapped up Winter competition with challenging eight-week 8-Ball and 10-Ball tournaments played in a demanding round-robin format.
Former Ohio Buckeye Jim Sykes earned the 8-Ball Grand Championship title by winning 51 games and a total of 57 points. (One point for each game won, plus 3-point bonus for each weekly mini-tournament victory.)
Notching second and third place finishes in the 8-Ball event, respectively, were Harold Erker (43 wins, 49 points) and Clay Beeson (41 wins, 41 points). Other 8-Ball competitors include Chuck Johnson, Jim Padgitt, Gary Weaver, Mike Finnegan, Joe Armbruster, and Lee Andersen.
As 10-Ball Grand Champion, Joe Armbruster collected his Winter tournament triumph with 39 game wins and 48 total points. Runner-up was Jim Padgitt (38 wins, 44 points) with third place honors going to Mike Finnegan (34 wins, 37 points). Other 9-Ball competitors include Chuck Johnson, Marv Schrock, Joe Browner, and Peter Pop.
For their efforts, Grand Championship winners Jim and Joe earned discount gift cards to Goodyear’s popular BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse.
8-Ball tournament play convenes in the PC Billiard Room on Mondays at 2 p.m. 9-Ball tournaments are played Thursdays at 9 a.m. To join the PC Billiard Club, pick up membership information at the Billiard Room on the west side of Tuscany Falls Clubhouse, just down the hallway from Renaissance Theater entrance lobby.
