The Men’s Christian Fellowship of PebbleCreek (MCFPC) will again meet via Zoom on Wednesday, March 3 at 7:30 a.m. Special guest speaker will be Jerry McFarlane, retired Navy senior chief and 26-year veteran of the Minneapolis Police force.
McFarlane enlisted in the Navy after high school in 1969 and was trained as an aircraft engine mechanic serving in a weather observation squadron and then a reconnaissance squadron operating out of Guam and Danang, Vietnam. After returning from Vietnam, Jerry was assigned to train and support Navy reservists at a Navy Reserve anti-submarine squadron based out of the Chicago area.
After his discharge, McFarlane was hired by the Minneapolis police and was a patrol officer for 12 years. He was promoted to sergeant and transferred to investigations as a sgt. detective for 14 years. During his police career, he continued his Navy career as a reservist assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson, retiring in 1999 as a senior chief. Jerry and his wife Gloria spend winters in Arizona and summers in Minnesota.
For those interested in joining the meeting, contact MCFPC president Igor Shpudejko at [email protected] or 602-384-6496, and you will receive an invitation via email with a link to join the Zoom meeting.
At the Fellowship’s February meeting, guest speaker David Graeff shared how God’s faithfulness guided and protected him and his family while serving as a missionary to Indonesia.
The MCFPC is a group of 130 Christian men who convene for monthly meetings the first Wednesday of each month and host community outreach activities.
