March was another busy month for members of the PebbleCreek Italian American Club. At the business meeting on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, the annual board election took place. The new board: Ken Minichiello – President, Mary Flynn – Vice President, Bob Cleland – continues as Treasurer, Pat Atkinson – Secretary, and Rich Veleta – Sergeant of Arms, will lead the club starting in April 2015. Club members extend a gigantic thank you to the exiting board members: President Rose Ann Cleland and Sergeant of Arms Bob Montalbano.
Following the business meetings, club members enjoyed the Andiamo (Let’s Go) at the beautiful home of Bob and Barbara Spano. It was an evening of great wine, snacks and conversation on the Spano’s lovely patio. Club members then celebrated ll giorno di San Giuseppe (St. Joseph Day), on March 19 at Sunrise Park. Non-perishable food and/or money donations from club members are a focal point of this day. The food and financial donations were made to the Agua Fria Food Bank. The next March club event was the Dining Out event at the Macaroni Grill, March 26. Club members always enjoy a good Italian meal, some wine and great conversation with other club members and guests.
Club members will be enjoying the following April events: First a business meeting and Andiamo (a great way to meet fellow club members in a small group setting) on Wednesday, April 8, 2015, and second the annual Day at the Races event is Monday, April 13, 2015. The PebbleCreek Italian American Club is open to all PebbleCreekers.
