The PebbleCreek Italian-American Club had their October luncheon meeting at Flavors of Louisiana Restaurant on Wednesday, October 19, 2016. The meeting portion was conducted by President Ken Minichello who reviewed upcoming events. Check the website for details; pciac.org.
The Flavors of Louisiana Restaurant proved to be an outstanding venue for our monthly lunch. They have a separate room for large groups. We had 22 there to dine on the superb Cajun cuisine.
Mary Flynn served as our host for the Italian-American Club picnic on Saturday, October 29 in PebbleCreek’s Sunrise Park. The event was attended by 51 members and the PCHOA generously furnished the tables and chairs.
Eric Island Catering catered this magnificent event held to welcome back the snowbirds who are returning from their summer in the cooler climates of the north. Italian music filled the air with songs from the likes of the late Dean Martin from Steubenville, Ohio. Nobody sings Italian like Dean.
Dining was superb with what tasted like Roman shredded BBQ pork, Genoa beef brisket, southern Sicilian fried chicken, Amalfi Coast cole slaw, Tuscan hominy and corn off the cob and Bari baked beans. They had Taranto tea and Venetian lemonade to drink and Napoli cherry and Milano apple cobbler with Portofino gelato (ice cream) for dessert. Magnifico!
Our very popular President Ken Minichiello thanked Mary Flynn for hosting the event and welcomed all the snowbirds back.
There was a lot of food left over, so some took boxes to those members that were too ill to make it to the picnic. A great time was had by all. Come join us.
