Irish American Club Salutes the Volunteer of the Year

Trudy Chambers

Barb Mussman

Trudy Chambers was named Volunteer of the Year for 2024 by the PebbleCreek Irish American Club (PCIAC). To achieve this recognition, the person must have made an impact so great that it has helped the club improve beyond just one event or activity! Trudy has given time, effort, and dedication to the club, including serving on the board for three years, stepping in with every event, and arranging all the pub lunches and dinners. In addition, she has taken over the responsibility of managing and organizing the club’s storage unit and has spent countless hours and days organizing the unit. Her hard work has aided the club in achieving its goals over the past year!

Buíochas “pronounced Bwee-kus”An Irish Thank You.

The club’s commitment to volunteerism is a hallmark embraced by all members, though some individuals truly stand out. Throughout the year, the PCIAC highlights and thanks those members who demonstrate exceptional dedication to our club by awarding a Volunteer of the Month certificate. Among the distinguished Volunteers of 2024 are:

* Mona Milligan, Hooley Manager and the individual responsible for procuring raffle baskets for our golf tournament.

* Gena Wikstrom for her extensive contributions to reviewing and updating our Bylaws. As our resident expert on Roberts Rules, she generously shares the vast knowledge gained from her experience in both the non-profit and government sectors.

* Linda Publicover and Patricia Horyna assisted in the cleanup after our meetings. They also take the club tablecloths home, launder them, and return them for the next gathering.

* Susan Gleason for her commitment and hard work in organizing our annual charitable golf tournament over the past several years. She meticulously designed and developed the graphics, documents, and registration data for the event on the website.

* Mary Stehula and Kay Howell, Co-Chairs of our Charitable Contributions Committee, collaborated to develop a streamlined process for selecting the students who will receive scholarships from our club. They also oversaw the vetting and selection of the non-profits we support.

Our club thrives on the countless hours of volunteerism from its entire membership, for which we are deeply appreciative and truly grateful.

The Irish American Club prides itself on its three pillars: Social, Charity, and Education/Culture. If you are interested in finding out more about the club, please see our website: pcirishaz.org.
