The Irish-American Club has resumed activity after the summer break. Our first general meeting was October 14 when we welcomed eight new members. President John Pugsley welcomed the newcomers and announced the calendar for the upcoming season. The social hour, called “afters” in Ireland, was hosted by Bernice and Tim Coogan.

On Sunday, October 19 thirty-four IAC members enjoyed the first of five benefit dinners planned for this season. Marlene and Roger Hayes were terrific hosts, assisted by Jan and Steve Kirk. We all had a great dinner and pleasant conversation for a good cause. Proceeds from these dinners go to the Agua Fria Food Bank. Coming up on November 9 is the Welcome Back Patio Party for members and their guests at Tuscany Falls. In lieu of a general meeting, there will be an Afters at Priscilla and Joe Naworski’s home on November 11. Many members will still be resting from the annual Veterans Day parade that morning.

December will be busy too, with another home-hosted benefit dinner, a bus trip to the Christmas pageant in Scottsdale, and the annual Christmas dinner-dance in the Chianti Room. Other activities planned for the IAC include a golf tournament, Irish pub lunch, Emerald Ball and more. The Irish-American Club is open to all PebbleCreekers who are interested in things Irish. Call Judi Rizzetto at 536-1960 for membership information.
