The Irish American Club’s purpose of promoting an interest in Irish culture through social, charitable, and educational activities has delivered on all three during the month of March! At a recent club meeting our members learned about the history of Irish dance.
Our big social event, the Emerald Ball, was held on March 16. This event sold out quickly! Emma Quinn, a renowned harpist, graced us with Irish music while we enjoyed delicious appetizers in the beautifully decorated Chianti Room. The two cash bars were kept busy and were well stocked with Irish beers and Irish whiskey. The Ballroom was elegantly decorated, and the food was fabulous. Emma continued to play the harp during dinner and Rhythm Edition played their great music for the rest of the evening. People were dancing up a storm! It was such a wonderful party. The next Emerald Ball will be on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 2023.
The PebbleCreek Irish American Club would like to thank the following people: Suzanne Rambach, chair; Donna Gillen, co-chair; Mary Hornacek; and Pat Chernow.
The 13th Annual Charity Golf Tournament benefiting local charities and Millennium High School student scholarships was held March 12 and 13. What made the tournament so successful? The event had 250 golfers, 119 generous sponsors, two premier sponsors (who donated at the $2,500 level), a car prize hole-in-one sponsor, 16 additional hole-in-one sponsors who offered cash prizes, lots of raffle ticket purchases, and countless volunteer hours. All of this resulted in a $16,000 donation to local charities and a $12,000 donation to six Millennium High School students! The Irish American Club extends a big thank you to all those involved in making this such a fun, charitable event. Players were encouraged to come dressed in their Irish finest, with awards going to the “Best Wearin’ of the Green.” The winners for the women were Kaycee Christenson, Bobbie Wagner, Norma Guillaume, and Tina Stepzinski. The winner for the men was Greg McGee.
