Introduction to The Thoughtful Engagement Program

Teri Sellers

The next meeting of the Alzheimer’s Caregivers Support Group is September 17.

This is a group dedicated to the education and support of those PebbleCreek residents that have a loved one with a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s or a related dementia.

The Thoughtful Engagement program is a personalized activity program designed to inspire joy and enhance quality of life through social enrichment, personal connection, and ample amounts of fun. Program staff work with clients individually to create engagement plans that are customized based on their current limitations, strengths, and personal preferences.

Services are provided to clients living in private homes, group homes, assisted living communities, and long-term care facilities. Personalized activity plans include both in-home visits/activities, as well as special outings of each clients’ choosing. Services are provided to all seniors regardless of diagnosis, disease progression or activity level.

Daniela Saylor is a passionate advocate for seniors and their families. As a family caregiver herself, she understands the importance of supporting those family members and friends who sacrifice their time, resources, and, at times, their own wellbeing to ensure their loved one remains as happy and healthy as possible.

Daniela joined Geriatric Resources, LLC in 2018, after having worked to support family caregivers and their loved ones in the non-profit sector. She currently coordinates the Thoughtful Engagement program and dedicates her time to helping seniors find joy through meaningful and fun activities.

The PebbleCreek Alzheimer’s Support Group is open to residents that have a loved one with Alzheimer’s or other demential.

Respite Care

We may be able to provide free respite care for those with Alzheimer’s/Dementia during the caregiver meeting. This will allow the caregiver the opportunity and peace of mind to attend the discussion group. Please call me with your RSVP no later than Tuesday, September 13.

Monthly Breakfast

A more casual opportunity to meet and share with other caregivers is the first Saturday of each month. We will meet at Eagle’s Nest for breakfast and just talk. Getting to know other caregivers can be very supportive and helpful as the journey of this disease can be challenging. RSVP is required by September 5 for the September 7 breakfast. For information or to RSVP for respite care or the breakfast, please call Teri Sellers at 602-793-0299 or email [email protected].
