Jacquelyn Boutin Plante

Jacquelyn Boutin Plante of 19132 W. Osborn Road, Litchfield Park, Arizona died at home on Saturday, December 19, 2015, after a year-long battle with brain cancer. She was 67 years old. During her illness she was in the loving care of Hospice of the Valley and her husband, Bob Plante.

Jackie was born on October 9, 1948, in Chelsea, Massachusetts to Kenneth and Ruth (Carpenter) Tonks. Jackie lived in Massachusetts, Maine and California before the family finally settled in Warwick, Rhode Island in 1959. Jackie graduated from Warwick Veterans Memorial High School in 1966 and continued her education at Rhode Island College where she received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Education.

Over the years, Jackie worked in Rhode Island at Bradley Hospital and finally worked in the Cumberland school system where she retired as a Special Education teacher from McCourt Middle School in 2010.

Jackie is survived by her husband Robert Plante, sons Aaron and Brian Boutin, grandchildren Samantha, Matthew, Robert Boutin and Joshua Carroll and daughter-in-law Simone Boutin of Brooksville, Florida; daughter Amie Plante, mother Ruth Tonks and brothers Don and David Tonks in Rhode Island; brother Lawrence Tonks in Massachusetts; brother-in-law Barry Plante and his wife Marcia and her nephews of Peoria, Arizona and her sisters-in-law and many friends, nieces and nephews in Rhode Island, Arizona and Maine.

Jackie and Bob were Disney Vacation Club members and spent many magical vacations at various Disney Resorts and on Disney Cruises during their twenty years as members, usually sharing their adventures with friends and family. Jackie loved the outdoors and she and Bob traveled extensively in the U.S. and visited many national parks. Shortly before her illness, she and her husband spent two weeks camping at Yosemite National Park.

Jackie was an avid and accomplished photographer and enjoyed taking many photographs during her travels. She loved Arizona and her home on Osborn Road with her many cacti and fruit trees.

Memorials for Jackie will be announced and will be held in Litchfield Park, Arizona, Florida and Rhode Island. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made in her name to Hospice of the Valley.

Roger Carreyn

Roger Carreyn was born on August 19, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan. He married his wife Sharon in 1970 and they raised their family in Clinton Township, Michigan. Roger served in the U.S. Air Force stationed at Selfridge Air Force Base in Michigan. He worked at DTE Energy and retired after 40 years of employment. The Carreyns moved to PebbleCreek in January 2004. Roger was an avid golfer and loved golfing with his PebbleCreek buddies. He is survived by his wife Sharon, son Rodger and his wife Dena, daughter Kelly Blake and her husband Josh and grandchildren Clay and Lyla Carreyn.

Donal Eugene McCosh

Donald Eugene (Don) McCosh, 82 years old, passed away at 12:30 a.m. on December 30 at The Groves Memory Care Facility in Goodyear, Arizona.

Donald Eugene (Don) McCosh was born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, on September 2, 1933, to parents Theodore (Theo) and Helen McCosh. In high school he played center on the basketball team and went on to compete at the state tournament and played at Nebraska Wesleyan.

He helped pay his way through college, graduated with a degree in Pharmacy from the University of Nebraska, then returned home to work for his father in the family drug store. At the height of their business, McCosh Drug was a well-known anchor of the community serving most of western Nebraska. A photo department was added which had the best photo equipment and photo processing in the panhandle.

Don was in the National Guard, the Masons, the Elks, Shriner’s Club, Guardian for Jobs Daughters and more. He was very active in the community, performing community service for the Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the Board of Directors for the Platte Valley National Bank.

Don is preceded in death by a niece, Gretchen Hummel, his mother, Helen (Howe) McCosh, his father, Theodore McCosh and his son, baby McCosh.

Don is survived by his wife, Ruth (Stone) McCosh of Goodyear, Arizona, son Curtis (Philip) of San Clemente, California and grandchildren Sarah, Abigail and Kaitlyn, daughter Roxane of Los Angeles, California, daughter Andrea (Rob) of Scottsdale, Arizona and grandchildren Amber and Kyle, sister Joyce (McCosh) Levander of Central City, Nebraska and sister Eunice (McCosh) Peeks (Ed Peeks) of Lincoln, Nebraska.
