Edward Renfro

Edward L. Renfro died on April 15, 2016, with his family by his side. He was a longtime resident of PebbleCreek in Goodyear, Arizona.

He was born in Sioux City, Iowa on September 7, 1929. He graduated from Central High School and Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa in 1953.

Preceding him in death was his first wife Ann.

He is survived by his wife, Marlene Sewell Renfro, three sons and one daughter: Greg Renfro of Silver City, New Mexico; Tim Renfro of Surprise, Arizona; Richard Renfro of Dakota Dunes, South Dakota and daughter Carrie Ann Hurst of Omaha, Nebraska.

He also leaves two stepchildren, Kathleen Outcalt of Pacific Palisades, California and David Sewell of Katy, Texas.

Also survived by two brothers, Bob Renfro of Lincoln, Nebraska and Ron Renfro of St. Paul, Minnesota along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He will also be missed by his little dog Molly who loved him very much.

For years he was a member of PebbleCreek Men’s Golf Association and was a starter on the first tee where he always had a few choice words for those teeing off.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Ronald Charles Sober

Mr. Ronald C. Sober, 69, of Goodyear, Arizona died April 30, 2016, in Sun City West of a lengthy illness. Ron was optimistic to the end. He always held out hope for a life after cancer, without pain. Today he is without pain and at peace.

Ron was a Michigan native and relocated to Arizona in 2006. He was born August 8, 1946, in Howell, Michigan to Charles and Doris Sober.

Ron is survived by his wife Sumiko Sober; daughters, Jenny Boyd (Derek) and Kimberly Sanborn (Joel); son, Greg Osika; brother, Richard Sober (Dixie) and five grandchildren, Matthew, Noah, Grace, Faith and Jace Michael. He was preceded in death by his sister Constance Lynde and his parents Charles and Doris.

A memorial service was held Saturday, May 14 at the Church at Litchfield Park. The family suggests that donations be made to St. Mary’s Food Bank or the Cancer Society. Condolences for the family can be left at www.thompsonfuneralchapel.com.
