Good weather and high spirits brought Oregonians and Idahoans out in record numbers for this year’s Oregon-Idaho picnic on Sunday, April 9. Sunrise Park again provided the perfect venue for the 55 PebbleCreek residents and visitors who showed up for the occasion. OSU Beavers, Boise State Broncos and UO Ducks were well represented by school colors, college emblems and table décor. Potluck appetizers and beverages did not disappoint!

It is always amazing how many connections are made at gatherings such as this. One person found that a new couple to PebbleCreek was stationed at the same Air Force Base in England, albeit 20 years later. Several other couples who had spent years in Asia found that they had places, acquaintances and careers in common.

The traditional trivia games did not disappoint. John Flynn prepared Oregon’s while Bob Humphrey put together Idaho’s. The official photographer for the event, Will Bradshaw, has recorded the event for us. Co-chairs continue to be the tireless Lucy Saling and Betty Tomtan.

No date has been set for 2018’s event, but it is generally in early April. Watch your neighborhood bulletin board in March for next year’s Oregon-Idaho Picnic and we hope to see you there.
