Mark your calendars for Friday, April 13 at 7:00 p.m. Our High Holidays Club is commemorating the annual observance of Yom Hashanah (remembrance of the Holocaust). This will be our third year and we are observing Shabbat along with the holiday.
Please join us for this service as well a lovely Oneg (desserts and challah) immediately following. Sign up on our website www.pcjewsnews.org. We expect a large turnout as this is a very important holiday as well as observance. Location will be announced as soon as it is firmed up.
In May, ours will have a hoopla celebration for the 70th, yes 70th , anniversary of the State of Israel. It will be a joyous celebration with good food, good music and good friends. Please look to our website for further info as it becomes available.
February 6 marked the last speaker for this year. We were fascinated and entranced by the stories of Marion Weinzweig. She presented a heartfelt and personal recollection of her journey during the Nazi occupations in Europe. Marion was enlightening, informative and compassionate in her tales and her successful outcome after the War.
Next year, October 2018-April 2019, our club will be taking a hiatus on speakers and will introduce other Jewish educational and celebratory events. We will have more Shabbat celebrations as well as holiday observances. If you would like to sponsor an event, please contact: Marsha Langfuss at [email protected] or Brenda Hyman at [email protected]. We look forward to hearing from you!
Shalom!
