If you are looking for a resource, try the newly updated Kare Bears Resource Guide at www.karebears.org. There are 40 pages of resources that can be helpful for a variety of needs and they are not all health related. There is help from PebbleCreek residents who offer specialized services such as home maintenance, transportation to the airport, house watch, window washers, etc. There are mobile services that come to your home that include salon services, grocery delivery, doctor, dry cleaning, massage and more. There are government agencies, elder attorneys, estate and financial planners and the list goes on and on. Sound helpful?
Perhaps the most important reason to view the Kare Bears guide is to get help when you or a loved one is ill. Goodyear now has a free Community Paramedicine program (by appointment) where two paramedics come in an unmarked van to your home. They do vitals, healthcare assessments, healthcare referrals, home safety inspections, preventative care programs, etc. Contact information is on page 5 of the guide.
The Products, Programs and Organizations section for support of various diseases is full of websites, support and access to newsletters that can be so informative. Many of them can even be helpful to friends and family all over the world. Other areas of the guide include resources for medical and nonmedical care in your home. And, of course, there is a section that deals with housing, rehab or respite care.
The guide can be viewed or downloaded at www.karebears.org. All you have to do is click Resource Guide on the left side of the screen and it will connect you. There are two parts to the directory. You will have to view the index portion separately. For an easier search you may want to print out the index so you can use it while searching for a resource. If you don’t use the web you can view a hard copy of the Resource Guide at the Kare Bears house or at Eagle’s Nest and Tuscany libraries. The Guest Services Desks at either clubhouse also have copies. They will be glad to print a hard copy for you at a nominal cost of around $4.
It is important to note that Kare Bears does not endorse these entries but merely offers the information of your review.
We hope you will take a moment to view the guide today so that help can come your way when you need it. Oh, and don’t forget to visit the Kare Bears Library. It has all kinds of books, pamphlets and information, too.
