Karen Robbins
I first designed the Hands Across America flag in 1991 for my book, Big Bulletin Boards: A Cooperative Approach, by Good Year Books (Scott Foresman). Teachers and children across America learned how to make a large bulletin board flag for their schools by cutting or painting hand prints. This flag was created by children in University Place School District and was chosen for the Picture of the Year for the Tacoma News Tribune in 1995. It was later created again with painted handprints for the Flags Across America book cover by Schiffer Books 2020. After 9/11, school children flooded NYC with Hands Across America flags sending their love of our American flag. I hope Americans of all ages will join hands across America today. Happy Veterans Day 2025 to all our PebbleCreek Veterans. Thank you for your service.
The Flags Across America book may be purchased at the Expressions Gallery, Amazon, B&N, or wherever books are sold. It’s a gorgeous coffee table book with over 300 amazing American flags and inspiring, historical stories. It makes a lasting gift to any American family. Karen is donating her royalties to Semper Fi.
