The next meeting of the Men’s Christian Fellowship of PebbleCreek (MCFPC) will be held Wednesday, Dec. 1, in the Tuscany Falls Chianti Room. The meeting will kick off with a buffet breakfast starting at 7:30 a.m. The special guest speaker will be Brannon Hampton, Goodyear vice mayor. Hampton will provide an update on the economic development growth, infrastructure needs, and public safety issues facing the city.
Hampton was elected to his first four-year council term in 2017 and is a graduate of Agua Fria High School. He is excited watching the growth in the city. “We’re bringing in a lot of great infrastructure and jobs. When I was in high school, there were about 10,000 people in Goodyear. Now there are about 100,000 people,” remarked Hampton.
Currently, he represents Goodyear on the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) Economic Development Committee, Maricopa County Community Development Advisory Committee, the City Council Audit Subcommittee, and the National League of Cities’ Community and Economic Development Federal Advocacy Committee.
His volunteer work is notable, having linked with nonprofits like the Agua Fria Food Bank, Young Life, Be a Leader, and several faith-based charities. While working for APS, he was honored for volunteerism and community commitment.
Born in Phoenix, Hampton has lived in Goodyear for about 15 years with his wife, Rebecca, and his two sons and a daughter.
At the November meeting, MCFPC members heard from guest speaker Todd Lewis on how to understand the fruits of the spirit (Gal. 5:22), and how we can support each other by using these gifts in our family and community.
The MCFPC is a group of 110 Christian men who meet the first Wednesday of each month with special guest speakers featuring various topics. All men of PebbleCreek are invited and encouraged to attend. To reserve a spot for the breakfast buffet, contact President Igor Shpudejko at 602-384-6496.
