Glass Arts Club Spotlight

Karla Heinz with one of her glass “Garden Goddesses”

Kitty Kowalczyk

Meet Karla Heinz, this month’s featured artist. Karla is originally from the state of Washington, having also lived Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, for four years, then Cincinnati, Ohio, before moving to PebbleCreek 10 years ago with her husband, Larry. Along the way, Karla was in college to earn her degree in education, but babies started coming, putting her education on the back burner. Karla is the proud mom of four adult children, and doting grandma to four grandchildren.

Aside from travel, Karla loves art and creating, and the Glass Arts Club caught her eye!  She has worked with glass for eight years now and served on our board as president during the challenging COVID-19 years. Teaching is still in her blood as she continues to mentor new members and teach some of our beginner classes. She is also known for her “Garden Goddesses,” one of which she is holding in the picture. All the goddesses are very unique and tend to go quickly once they hit the Expressions Gallery, so if you see one you like, better grab it fast!
