Glass Artist Biography: Linda Montgomery

Linda Montgomery and some of her work

Karla Heinz

Linda grew up in the state of Indiana and received her nursing degree from Indiana University. Prior to moving to Arizona in 1998, Linda finished her career and left a home health agency in Indianapolis, where she was the director of professional services. She belonged to Tri Kappa Sorority and volunteered for numerous local organizations. Linda and Bill, her husband, enjoyed riding their Harley motorcycles with friends and spending time sailing their boat out of Marina del Rey, Calif. Linda also spent time working for a private airline as a flight attendant, traveling domestically and internationally.

Before getting involved with the PebbleCreek Glass Arts Club, Linda spent over 40 years working with textiles and creating other forms of art. She is surrounded by her four lovely and artistic daughters, sharing projects and many art forms. Linda joined the glass club in 2018, shortly after moving to PebbleCreek. Linda finds her color inspirations in nature and takes several days to sketch and plan for a piece of glass art. So far, her favorites are floral sun catchers and geometric serving trays. Her work is always stunning and so well planned out. You can always find her work in the Expressions Gallery or the display windows, for a price that is not worthy of what it takes to create her pieces.

Linda has been a mentor to many, always being as helpful as possible to anyone who asks. She volunteered her time as a kiln master during the Covid era, as well as working in the Expressions Gallery a few times per month. We always knew that we could trust her experience and knowledge with glass art pieces, which makes her a great steward of our club. In her spare time, Linda enjoys reading, golfing, playing mahjongg, and walking her precious Shih Tzu pup, Michi.

Stop by the Expressions Gallery and check out her work. You will be delighted!
