Glass Art Club’s New Board

It’s a changing of the guard! The Pebble Creek Glass Club (PCGAC) has elected a new board for 2024-25. In the front row (from left to right) is Dom Travaglini acting as treasurer. Dom was treasurer in 2023 and will continue his two-year term through 2024. Dom keeps track of the club’s finances and reporting. Next to him is Kitty Kowalski, who is the new president. Kitty served as vice president for 2022-23 and is looking forward to her new responsibilities and goals for the club.

In the back row (from left to right) is Kurt Goss, who is now the vice president and responsible for maintenance of the glass studio and keeping it running smoothly. In the middle is Nancy Luth, who is serving her second term as secretary. Nancy keeps us well informed of activities, classes, announcements, etc. To her right is Stephen Nathan, who served as the president for 2022-23. Although he is no longer the president, he will serve on the board throughout this year as a consultant and help everyone transition into their new roles.

Having expanded its membership to 134 as of the beginning of 2024, the board is eagerly awaiting the remodel of the glass art room to allow for more artists to work there. This year we are planning to repair our existing kilns and replace those that no longer work.

In the meantime, imagination abounds! The cup of creativity runneth over. The PCGAC board is looking to hold many new classes such as jewelry making, using Murrini glass rods, and kiln paper carving. We will continue our mentoring sessions for newer members and hope to have our more experienced members teach new techniques to some of us veterans.
