Glass Art Club New Officers

Karla Heinz

We are pleased to introduce the newly elected board members for the PebbleCreek Glass Art Club (PCGAC). Their duties began on Feb. 1, 2025, and they are off to a great start!

Front row on the left, is Jean Bowman, secretary. Jean is originally from Rhode Island and Delaware, graduating from Brandeis University in economics. She also has a master’s degree from Boston University in mfg./engineering. Jean retired from AMEX in 2011 and continued to work for a global nonprofit, permanently retiring in 2020. She and her husband moved to PC in 2021 after getting hooked on glass while attending our annual Art Festival in 2021.

Front row, right is Kurt Goss, vice president. Kurt is fulfilling his second-year commitment as vice president, and we are so delighted that he stuck around! Kurt moved to PC from Santa Ana, Calif., and retired from public works. Perhaps you have seen Kurt’s work in the gallery, guitars and pickleball paddles are his specialty.

Second row, standing left is Ted Green, treasurer. Ted and his wife, Kathy, moved to PC in 2017 and renovated a home in Eagle’s Nest in 2021. Ted joined the PCGAC in 2022 after his wife got him hooked on the craft. Ted’s background is in biochemistry and business development. Since he is comfortable with math and spreadsheets, he decided to run for treasurer and that is our blessing!

In the middle top row is Miss Kitty Kowalczyk, president, and this is her second time and third year being our leader. Not only can Kitty lead, she also is quite a glass artist (when she has time). Kitty and her husband moved to PC from northwest Indiana in 2020 after she retired as an RN. Kitty keeps us in line and informed on a weekly basis.

Top row, right is Susan Kopecky, who is fulfilling a new position that the board created as member at large. Susan sits on the board and is already an invaluable person to have in the room as well as on the board. Susan joined the glass club in 2024 and fit right in, already making gorgeous pieces and keeping us smiling and radiant. Susan and her husband, Ed, built a new home on the Tuscany side and are loving it. Susan has also been involved in fundraising for the new Art Club. Susan served our country in the United States Air Force as an aircraft mechanic on KC 135 tankers for four years, absolutely loving her work.
