Glamorous Hollywood Italian Style

Bob Marchese

Gorgeous gowns, top hats, pearls, and tuxedos bespeckled the evening when the Italian American Club recalled the glory of Hollywood, through film and photo.

Members were re-introduced to the stars who influenced a generation and more to spectacular song, dance, romance, and drama as shown with golden lights on silver screens; where love was more than it now seems. Bogie’s gaze with Bacall so near, a whispered line the world could hear. Astaire would glide, so light, so true, with Ginger spinning into view. Hepburn’s fire met Tracy’s grace, a battle of minds, and a warm embrace. Gene Kelly danced in falling rain, turning joy with every strain. Judy Garland’s voice would rise, a rainbow reaching through the skies. Sinatra sang with velvet tone, while Ava’s beauty stood alone. Gable’s charm and Lombard’s wit, a love so real, yet briefly lit. Myrna Loy with elegance rare, a quiet strength, beyond compare. These stars still shine though years have passed, their silver shadows will ever last.

The evening was truly stunning and elegant as members enjoyed their partaking of the celebration through dress, dinner, and reminiscent conversation of the Glamorous Hollywood bygone era.
