Giving Back to Alzheimer’s

Teri Sellers

PebbleCreek Alzheimer’s Support Group is open to all residents who have a loved one with Alzheimer’s or dementia. We meet twice a month, a breakfast social and a support group meeting. Our goal is to provide support and information to families that are caring for a loved one with dementia.

Every year our support group, along with many other residents of PebbleCreek, have helped us raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Association. We host a satellite Walk to End Alzheimer’s here in PebbleCreek. This year’s walk will take place on Saturday, Nov. 4 at Sunrise Park. We have also sponsored a fun event called QuarterMania. The details for this event will be posted soon. For more information on this event, please contact Teri Sellers.

The Creekers (our team name) has earned Grand Champion status the past few years, and it has been my honor to be the team captain. The main goal of the Walk is to raise awareness of Alzheimer’s and related dementias, as well as funds. All funds raised through Walk to End Alzheimer’s advance the care, support, and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association. While there is no fee to register for the Walk, all participants are encouraged to raise critical funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association to provide 24/7 care and support and advance research toward methods of prevention, treatment and, ultimately, a cure.

Every dollar you raise benefits those affected by Alzheimer’s disease in your community.

The Alzheimer’s Association is a global organization, working to advance care, support, and research across the world. From face-to-face support to online education programs and promising worldwide research initiatives, the money you raise makes a difference in the lives of those facing Alzheimer’s.

The funds raised by QuarterMania go directly to the Alzheimer’s Association and are credited to The Creekers. This fun event is part bingo and part auction. More than 40 donated gift baskets will be raffled off. For more information and tickets, contact Teri Sellers.

Saturday breakfast meetings are on the first Saturday of the month. RSVP is mandatory.

Support group meetings are held on the third Saturday and do not require an RSVP.

If you are not a member of our group, it is easy to join. You are not alone. I want to share helpful resources and information with you and add you to our email list. Our support group is an excellent way to learn more about the journey that is dementia and a wonderful way to meet others who are going through the same journey as you. Your information is always safe and confidential. The benefits are priceless.
