On Friday, Dec. 6, 23 members of the Gimme Girls Golf Group gathered in festive attire for their annual Christmas Party at the home of Kathy Carney.
Fifteen of the gals played golf and enjoyed a fun game prior to the party. They played from red tees, yellow tees, white tees, counting putts only, and many other fun games etc. Everyone enjoyed the variety of the game put together by Sharon Johnson.
Afterwards, the golfers along with other members who did not play met at Kathy’s house for soup, salad, and sandwiches. The four members unable to attend were JoAnn Enyeart, Liz Fergione, Maria Murray, and Syd Mersereau.
Kathy Carney, Emma Mosely, and Liz Fergione organized the party along with a couple of games. Susan Bentson helped out on the day of the party. A gift exchange was held after lunch. Everyone brought a wrapped ornament to exchange.
The group also collected $555 in gift cards to give the Homeless Youth Connection. Way to go, ladies!
After all the fun, the group held their annual meeting. Suzan Simons was the leader this year and Diane Galewski will be the new leader for 2020.
The Gimme Girls have been together for 20 years. There are three original members. They are Emma Mosley, Karin Smith, and Syd Mersereau. They are planning a celebration of this milestone.
All members are looking forward to good times with good gal friends, and on any Friday you can hear one of them saying on the green, “I’ll give you that one!”, i.e. the putt, so long as inside the leather of the putter.
