One of the things that I am proud of at PebbleCreek is the many amenities and activities that are offered for our residents and their guests. Being here for over 18 years, I have seen how PebbleCreek has grown into the beautiful and incredibly active place that we see today; two clubhouses, fitness centers, pools, libraries, restaurants, 54 holes of golf, the Creative Arts Center, the Renaissance Theater, pickleball, tennis, bocce and softball. There are so many places to do more things than I could ever imagine. We have more than 100 clubs from the Art Club to the Wine Club and clubs for all of the letters of the alphabet in between. As I have said before, if you are bored in PebbleCreek, you have not walked outside of your home. Part of what makes retirement even sweeter is doing what you love, what enriches your life and what keeps you young at heart and sharp of mind.
Visiting the Creative Arts Center is always an inspiration. Some of the art and items in the Expressions Gallery looks like it was taken from the Phoenix Art Museum; then you come to find out it was done by someone who may have never picked up a brush or molded a piece of clay before moving here. If you have never painted, sculpted, quilted, worked with glass, wood, pottery or ceramics, if you want to get better at making a scrapbook, using beads to make jewelry or taking beautiful photographs, these are just some of the incredible activities offered through Creative Arts and their clubs. Just take a one day visit to the Creative Arts Center and see what may inspire you.
If you want to explore your creative side through music, song, dance, acting or performing, consider joining one of our Performing Arts groups. Their plays and performances are outstanding and are community favorites. There is something for all levels of interest to even include working backstage behind the scenes. We also provide a variety of world class entertainment through our Activities Office. The acts include the Glenn Miller Orchestra, Oakridge Boys, Texas Tenors, Peter Noone and the Herman’s Hermits, a range of tribute performances to include favorites like Chicago, Elton John, Elvis, Whitney Houston and a world-renowned tribute to the rock band Queen. The Activities Department also provides you cultural opportunities with Cinema Society, bus trips to the theater and symphony, as well as fun bus trips to see our local sports teams – the Coyotes, Suns and Diamondbacks. There is truly something for everyone.
If it’s athletics you’re looking for, no matter your fitness level, there is something for you. Our two gym facilities offer cardio and weight equipment; our studios invite you to take yoga, strength, spin and other classes. We offer the work-out-on-your-time Wellbeats kiosk that has hundreds of guided workouts to do on your own. There are dance classes, line dancing, ping pong, horseshoes, aqua volleyball, water aerobics and many more. There are the sports clubs such as pickleball, tennis, softball and bocce. Most of the year, our weather is perfect for a walk around Robson Circle or a bike ride through the community. Finally, as a former “golf guy,” I have to mention our wonderful golf courses which now include 54 holes of golf, our golf associations for 18-holers and 9-holers, both men and women, our putters club and our lesson and tournament programs to improve your game and have some fun.
There are so many more activities here at PebbleCreek that I know I am failing to mention. I challenge you to pick just one of these activities that you have never tried before. I know you won’t regret it. Whatever you do, just do something. Do lots of things! I hope you live your best life ever here at PebbleCreek.
