General Manager’s Message

Bill Barnard, General Manager

As we get used to this being a new year, I would like to reflect on 2021, another year filled with uncertainty and difficulties, and look forward to some of what we can expect in 2022 from an operational view.

While 2021 was still a very unpredictable year, the operations team was able to manage the year and accomplish some positive results and complete necessary projects. Golf had a banner year, and we were just shy of 150,000 rounds played on our golf courses in 2021. We were also able to accomplish a major renovation of all the bunkers on the Tuscany Falls East golf course this past summer. Other project highlights include:

* Painting of the exterior common walls at Tuscany Falls

* Replacement/upgrade of water fountains throughout the property, both indoors and out

* Resurfacing of tennis courts 9 through 12

* Replacement of pickleball fencing and lighting

* Replacement of numerous A/C units throughout the property

* Replacement of the Tuscany Falls indoor pool floor tile

* Replacement of the Tuscany Falls indoor pool dehumidifier

* Replacement of motors and pumps at the Tuscany Falls outdoor pool

* Addition of new bleachers at the softball field

* Replacement/addition of outdoor lighting at both clubhouses and gate houses

* Several road projects to include the PolyChip of Units 3 and 5

* Replacement of various pieces of kitchen equipment at both restaurants

These are just some of the numerous projects and plans that were accomplished last year. In 2022, we have several significant projects planned, including the painting of the interior common walls at Tuscany Falls, roadwork projects, upgrading gate equipment and cameras, replacement of several vehicles, and other regular maintenance and replacement projects. We will keep you updated about these projects as we make our way through the year.

As we begin 2022, there is still much uncertainty with the resurgence of COVID variants, the continued struggle to find employees, continued supply chain problems, and the increasing costs for many items that are necessary for our operations, including motors, pumps, A/C units, concrete, lighting, fertilizer, seed, water, gas, etc. Our team has been weathering the storm for the past two years, and we ask for patience and understanding as we navigate 2022. With the recent uptick in COVID cases, and the issues that I’ve explained above, there may be times where projects are delayed, regular maintenance is delayed, or where we may have to shut down some of our service if staff is not available to work. I still have hope and faith that more positive things are coming our way this year, and our team wishes all of you a healthy and safe year.
