General Manager’s Message

Bill Bernard, General Manager

This time of year typically brings cooler weather to the Valley. Winter visitors begin to return, and we start to feel the anticipation of the holiday season. The hustle and bustle of activity will be around us before we know it. So, as we kick off the season, Thanksgiving just behind us, I want my message this month to be a reminder of the meaning behind Thanksgiving.

For many of us, this holiday centers on a big dinner with all the trimmings, maybe watching a football game or parade, and spending time with family and friends. It is also a day of thanks. The word Thanksgiving can be broken down into two words, thanks and giving. After 18-plus months of a world turned upside down, these two words have more meaning than ever.

With that in mind, I want to offer my thanks to all our staff members who have made it through the past year and a half, going through the COVID-19 closures, staff shortages in the following months, and into today, where still so much uncertainty exists. Staffing, supply chain problems, rising costs, and other issues continue to impact our lives on a daily basis. Key staff in Food and Beverage, Patrol, Facilities, Housekeeping, Resident and Guest Services, Activities, Fitness, ALC, Creative Arts, Golf, Communications, and Administration sustained HOA operations under difficult and ever-changing circumstances. I offer my most sincere thanks to each and every one of those staff members for their perseverance, dedication, and commitment to PebbleCreek.

I also want to recognize just some of the volunteers who give. These people help make PebbleCreek a better place to live. Thanks to the men and women who serve on the ALC, Golf, Election, and Rules Compliance Committees. These four HOA committees work under the direction of the HOA board to ensure our community and homeowner needs are being addressed. There are many other volunteers throughout PebbleCreek, in groups such as LifeLong Learning, Kare Bears, IAG, Transition, Library, the Creative Arts Council, and the many other associations and clubs throughout PebbleCreek, that are too many to list. The time all of these individuals devote each year is truly an act of giving back. Also, a special thanks to our resident board members, Bob Paine and Jack Gregory, who serve tirelessly, as volunteers, to help PebbleCreek.

In my 21 years working here in PebbleCreek, the one overriding theme that carries through every year is that of giving back and helping others. I say thanks to all of you who help your neighbors, your community, animals, the earth—whatever it is that you do to make a difference. I extend my gratitude to you all, and you truly define the spirit of this holiday season. Thank you!

On behalf of my entire operations team, cheers to you all and happy holidays!
