What did you miss? In September John Spearman presented “Facts Not Fables: The Art of Evidence-Based Genealogy.” His presentation encouraged us to always question our findings and stick to the Genealogical Proof Standard to develop our family story rather than propagating fables by critically analyzing our evidence.
The Nominating Committee (Donna Payne, Kathy Koch, and Emma Mosley) is working on developing the slate of candidates for club president, vice president, and treasurer. Voting will be conducted by mail with the new officers sworn in at the December meeting.
On the social front. The PCGC is forming a Mahjong Group. Organized by Vicky Ferraresi, the first meeting was in September and everyone enjoyed learning California Mahjong (it’s easy, especially if you play Gin Rummy). Members can contact Vicky at viferra@outlook.com if interested.
Members’ monthly luncheons are held on alternating Mondays and Thursdays.
Genealogy Detectives can assist members on starting their research or help when they are “stuck.” Sometimes it is just a matter of getting organized or getting assistance on where or how to start searching for your family. The Genealogy Detectives can help jump-start your search.
Visit our website at pebblecreekgenealogy.club for more information about PCGC and our special programs such as Genealogy Detectives. General information is open to all site visitors with additional content (including Genealogy Detectives) available to members only. This is another member benefit and another great reason to join PCGC.
Questions? Contact Marsha Wallick at mlwallick@gmail.com about the PCGC.
Hope to see you as we learn more about discovering our families!
