The PebbleCreek Genealogy Club (PCGC) next meets on Monday, June 9 from 9 a.m. to noon.

PCGC meets the second Monday of each month in the Palm Room in the Eagle’s Nest Clubhouse. Meetings start at 9 a.m. with a short business meeting, followed by an invited speaker with the remaining time devoted to a workshop, networking, and sharing of research. Guests are always welcome!

The June 9 meeting will focus on using federal documents in genealogy research. Kori Tueller from the Arizona State Archive and Public Records will speak on “Finding Family: A Genealogist’s Guide to Federal Documents.” She will provide an overview of the State of Arizona Research Library, the U.S. Government Publishing Office, and the Federal Depository Library Program. Key print and online resources along with effective search strategies for locating and using federal documents in genealogical research will be discussed.

Ms. Tueller is the Administrator of the State of Arizona Research Library, a branch of the Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records and is the Arizona Coordinator for the Regional Federal Depository Library. She has collaborated with the Arizona Genealogical Advisory Board to host the annual, virtual Arizona Genealogy Day event since 2021. She earned her MLIS degree from the University of Arizona. She enthusiastically connects researchers to resources any chance she gets!

What did you miss? At our May meeting Rob Wilson, Librarian at the Goodyear Library, spoke on “Genealogy Resources at the Goodyear Library.” We were given a great overview of resources available there. A workshop on using FamilySearch followed the speaker. Attendees were assisted with creating an account and accessing the billions of records available on the site.

As we move into summer, our July and August meetings will be workshops with networking. Our guest speakers will return in September.

Members are enjoying our monthly luncheons; it’s a great opportunity to get to know one another and discuss genealogy and more. Members should keep an eye out for an email regarding dates and locations.

Genealogy Detectives are available to assist members get started on research or when they are “stuck”.

Visit our website at pebblecreekgenealogy.club for more information about PCGC and our special programs such as Genealogy Detectives. General information is open to all site visitors with additional content (including Genealogy Detectives) available to members only. This is another member benefit and another great reason to join PCGC.
