The PebbleCreek Singles have earned a reputation for playing hard and giving generously. The current year has been no exception. As the months of 2014 flew by, the club’s diversified and energetic members gathered to share the fun and frolic of scavenger hunts, lake cruises, river tubing, scenic hikes, museum and festival trips, Fourth of July and Oktoberfest parties, pub quiz challenges, golf outings, cozy campfire cookouts, monthly game and movie nights, happy hours, karaoke and brunch and movie Sundays. Lots of good times marked the monthly calendars in 2014, but the focus for the club’s 180 plus members was not always on just having fun.

Since its inception 17 years ago, the Singles Club has remained steadfast in its mission to give back to the communities surrounding PebbleCreek. In the past the group has supported the Battered Women’s Shelter, the American Cancer Society, Goodyear Police’s Shop With A Cop program and Luke AFB. In 2012 Dan Miczek, then PC Singles President, introduced the organization to the very impressive Homeless Youth Connection (HYC), a charity dedicated to helping young high school aged men and women finish their educations and achieve successful lives. For the past three years the club has supported the HYC and in 2014, under the leadership of President Judy Shaffer, members donated an impressive $2660.

Moving forward, the Board of Directors recently announced a collaborative process to allow all members of the PC Singles the opportunity to nominate a worthy cause to be considered as recipient of its 2015 charitable campaign. Any member may nominate a charity and present its mission and goals, either in person at the regular meeting on December 7 or in writing and sent to the president by December 3. Members will select the winning charity by confidential vote during the business meeting set to begin at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 7 in the Tuscany Falls Clubhouse. For further information about the nomination process contact Judy Shaffer at [email protected] or 951-215-1529.

Activities Director Peggy Kuffner reports December is shaping up to be a very active month for the club with the PC Singers Holiday Concert on December 4, Carpool to Glendale Glitters on December 9 and Holiday Dinner Party on December 14. The Singles Club also has been selected to decorate the Tuscany Falls Christmas Tree from 9:00 a.m. to noon on December 5.

Membership in the club is open to all single residents of PebbleCreek, owners and renters. Sign up for new members begins at 2:15 p.m. and activities sign up starts at 2:30 p.m. at the December 7 meeting. Social Hour takes place after the meeting in the Long Drive Lounge. For those who wish to attend, dinner will follow at Black Angus Restaurant.
