First Friday Shabbat

Friday, November 3 marked our first Shabbat service and Oneg. It was held in the Palm Room at 7:00 p.m. David and Sandy Mednick sponsored and conducted this service. A beautiful Oneg (desserts and coffee) immediately followed. We were at full capacity with some PC’ers on a wait-list. Todah Rabah to the Mednicks for sponsoring and leading the service. Tuesday, December 5 – Capri Room 6:30 p.m. – Rabbi Blotner will be back to give us a class called Yiddish 201: a more advanced talk about Yiddish, its words, origins and phrases. He is an excellent speaker and will keep you amused. 40 people are what the room allows. Sign-ups begin on November 4. (Note: start time is 6:30 p.m. for this lecture)

Tuesday, January 2, 2018 – 7:00 p.m., Capri Room – Jewish Federation of Greater Phoenix wil.isit us and speak about services that are available to Jews in the Phoenix area. Most of us are transplants and are acquainted with the Federation but kno.ery little about our local chapter. Join us for this informative and eye-opening lecture!

Tuesday, February 6, 2018 – Capri Room -7:00 p.m. – Join Marion Weinzweig for an informative and emotional talk about her experiences in the Holocaust. She was sent to a convent to avoid the death camps and the story she will relay will be amazing to all of us. There is a limit of 40 for this lecture. We have another annual observance of Yom Hashoah in April and a gala celebration of Israel’s 70th anniversary on May 13.
