Jodi Kieran discusses Wild Bird Rescue

The Pet Companions Club of PebbleCreek is pleased to have at its Wednesday, November 4, meeting Jodi Kieran, Founder and President of Fallen Feathers. Fallen Feathers is a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization that is dedicated to protecting the health and well-being of wild and exotic birds. The goal is to rehabilitate the birds back to health and release them back into the wild and/or locate their owner. Fallen Feathers cares for over 1000 birds a year. The rescue and rehabilitation process includes: medical attention, feeding, housing, socializing, environment adaptation and back-up release support, as needed.

Jodi has provided invaluable assistance to many PebbleCreek residents over the years, both by answering residents’ questions and taking in and caring for our injured birds. Jodi plans to bring some of her birds to show during her presentation.

All PebbleCreek residents, whether club members or not, are invited to join us on Wednesday, November 4 at 3:00 p.m. in Room 100 of the Eagle’s Nest Activities Center. There is no charge.

As always, a donation box will be available at the meeting for such pet related items as: pet toys, pet food (please check expiration date), leashes, collars, crates, cages, blankets (no sheets or pillow cases, please), towels, etc. Those items not used for our own PebbleCreek rescue efforts will be donated to other local animal rescue organizations.

As a reminder to club members, nominations are due at this meeting for vice president, secretary and two directors. Our annual election of officers and directors will take place at our January membership meeting.

Please address any questions to Jim or Marge Ellison at 623-35-6651.
