The PC Art Club is constantly looking to bring interest, fun, and excitement to their annual Art Shows, not only for the club’s artists, but also for the members of our community who attend the shows regularly. The rules for those submitting work are very clear and require all art to be created directly and personally by the AC member; the work must be current and not a copy or imitation.
Artists work long hard on each work submitted, hoping to achieve a result that will excite and inspire, and provide the opportunity to experience creativity in its purest form.
In addition to the main art exhibition at the Fall Show, an “Artist Challenge” invites members to take part in a competition to create a piece of work, in a specific “theme.” This year’s challenge theme is “In Your Mind”s Eye.” Artists are asked to take a visual and emotional journey through their “mind” to recall images that have made lasting impressions, real or imaginary, in their lives. We look forward with excitement to see the art inspired by this “challenge” and how each artist interprets the subject matter. Cash prizes will be awarded by a panel of independent professional judges.
The unusual circumstances affecting our lives today is definitely playing a part in the planning of the “Fall Show,” however, it is not going to stop the PCAC from moving forward on show arrangements. The club’s intention is to have an “in person” event if permitted, and an “online” show as well.
The “in-person” event is planned for Sunday, November 8, from 4 to 7 p.m., in the Chianti Room in Tuscany Falls. The online show will run from November 9 to 18.
There are many exciting additions and surprises for show attendees, so look for additional information and details in upcoming PC Post issues, and be sure to mark your calendars for both Fall Show events.
