Rev up your engine, grab your wallet and come over to the Creative Arts Center. I usually suggest you come on down at the end of these articles, but I have learned through the PebbleCreek grapevine that some folks newer to PebbleCreek don’t know where we are.
Here are two choices for finding your way. Enter the address 16280 Clubhouse Drive in your GPS and follow the yellow brick road. Or, drive into Tuscany, continue west on Clubhouse following the signs for the Model Village, pass Sarival Road (named for the Salt River Valley) and turn north into the parking lots for the gyms, pickle ball, Toscana’s and the Creative Arts Center. After you hear the hoopla at the pickle ball courts you are within shouting distance. If you need further assistance, the phone number for the Gallery, located in the Creative Arts Center, is 623-935-6744. Winter hours start today, October 1, and are from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday; closing for a lunch break from 12:30 through 1:00 p.m.
So, no excuses, come on down. And don’t forget to bring your new HOA card with you; purchases may be charged to your card if you have chosen to use it as a community credit card. Just remember, no more discounts!
Now on to the fun things you’ll find at the Gallery this month. Just in time for Halloween, enjoy the fabulous display of carved gourds available for viewing in both the Gallery and the showcase windows outside the Coyote Art Studio. Truly unique pieces, they are mixed media pots embellished with beads, metal and feathers. Some of the pieces are titled, Lizard Gourd, Wild Thing, Desert Stained Glass, Chained and Desert Tablita. I had no idea what a tablita was, but I have it on good authority, the artisan Judy Bihary, it is a colorful panel headdress worn by Pueblo Indian women. OMG, you have got to see this work of art. But, if you prefer wearable art, don’t overlook the display of gourd pendants.
The Gallery is now showcasing equal opportunity doll clothes, not only a huge, truly huge selection of handmade items for the American Girl dolls but also a few items for that American Boy, Logan. There is still a full array of beach attire available, Fiesta dresses, a denim cowgirl outfit complete with hat, an Arizona Cardinal Cheerleader outfit and an ASU Sun Devil outfit. And of course, we have a heart-stopping bridal gown, replete with veil, bouquet and garter. No detail is overlooked by the talented ladies who create these treasures for your family’s 18” friends.
So, now that you know where we are, take a trial run and come enjoy an outing in the Creek. Open six days a week, the Gallery will astound you on your first visit and keep you returning throughout the year. And don’t forget, a special shopping highlight is coming your way on December 2, the PC Artist’s Fest.
P.S. The original title for this article was to be Guys and Dolls (cute, right); it just wasn’t to be!
