Shopping greetings to you and yours!
Remember, tomorrow is the Holiday Fest in the Creative Arts Center; however, if you do miss it, the Gallery is open almost daily in December for your shopping adventures.
We’re here to help you enjoy the holiday season from the comfort of your own neighborhood. Gallery hours are being expanded for your convenience this season. In addition to the usual hours of Monday through Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the Gallery will be open on the following Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.: November 26, December 10 and 17. The Gallery also has special Sunday hours on December 24 and 31 from 9:00 a.m. to noon. The exhausted staff will close the Gallery for Christmas and New Year’s Day; taking some well-deserved time off.
On December 11, Kay Jarrett is teaching a class on the simple (she promises) art of creating a jeweled snowflake – sign up in the Gallery; for only $7 she provides everything you need for a gem of an experience. You’ll leave the class with a new decoration for your home, but why stop at one? Stroll through the Gallery and enjoy the many festive pieces that could soon be decorating your home.
We have a stunning array of gift items made from wood. For the golfers among you, there are incredible hand-crafted putters fashioned from ebony, maple and teak, and individually weighted. You will really score with this purchase! Actually, they are so striking you may opt to use yours as a wall hanging in between games. For the kid in you play with a wooden train set. And if you’re into dough, wait until you see the wooden rolling pins carefully made from select pieces of natural wood.
If you plan to spend any part of your holiday puttering around in the kitchen, stock up on a supply of hand-made scrubbers, hot pads, wash cloths and dish towels enhanced to stay on your stove door without slipping! These items will also make wonderful hostess gifts for everybody entertaining you during this season.
News alert – the Gallery has just increased the number of items jewelers may have on display at any one time to 15 pairs of earrings, 12 pendants, 8 necklaces and 8 bracelets – is there a song in that? Think of the incredibl.iewing/purchasing options you are now facing! Don’t dally – these items are unique.
Here’s another way to stretch your imagination; following current trends, we are showcasing elastic bracelets made from .ariety of beads – you may choose to stack several on your arms at one time. Just remember, there are rules, yes rules, for the wear and care of elastic bracelets. Ladies, when you try on a bracelet, fold your fingers together to narrow your hand and roll the beads up to your wrist. Remove the bracelet by rolling in reverse (sounds like driving directions). And never ever get your bracelets wet, be especially careful when washing large holiday platters purchased in the Gallery!
Didn’t you just love the fantastic selection of wall art displayed during the 2017 Art Walk? The pleasure of gazing upon fine art daily, not just once a year, can be yours with the purchase of a piece through the Gallery. Works are available in pastels, oil, acrylics, mixed media and stunning photography. Many are already framed and awaiting display in your home.
So grab a friend and begin the season with a shopping junket to the Creative Arts Center. We have a wonderful selection for every person and pooch on your list!
Happy Holidays and Happy New Year.
