Expressions Gallery and Gift Shop: It’s Summer!

Cork serving pieces

Sherry Blatner

It’s officially summer on June 21; however, the Valley hit 100 degrees in April and the Gallery moved to summer hours on May 1—now closing at 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday. It’s time to move your activities indoors. Staff at the Gallery are waiting to help you enjoy the season.

Not only are you welcome to enjoy the Gallery shopping experience, but you’re encouraged to visit the art clubs and see if you want to try something new. Outside each studio in the Creative Arts Center is a listing of which clubs use that studio and the day and time they are there. If you are already crafting at home, consider joining an art club and sharing your experience with new friends. This invitation is for both guys and gals.

The Gallery showcase windows are ablaze with red, white, and blue. We just celebrated Memorial Day, Flag Day is June 14, and the 4th of July is just around the corner. If you want the perfect décor items for your holidays, this is the place to shop. And if you think you’ll pop a cork in the upcoming weeks, try cork serving pieces for your parties!

Of course, bling in any color is a great accent for your wardrobe. The Gallery has a wall display of chain necklaces with pendants, stones, or charms from which to choose. There are also many necklaces made completely of stones in every color imaginable. Plan ahead, bring a wardrobe item with you to the Gallery and make the perfect jewelry choice to enhance your outfit.

Lots of beautiful wall art is available—oil, acrylic, prints, and more. Changing your room décor is like letting in a breath of fresh air, especially when the temps are soaring. Glass art, ceramics, and gourd pieces can be a beautiful addition to your home. If you are a new homeowner in the Creek, welcome, and put the Gallery at the top of your list to shop for items to complete your home. You’ll be stunned by the skills of your neighbors.
