A project to resurface tennis courts one and two at Eagle’s Nest should delight tennis players with the addition of a Plexicushion system that promotes consistent and uniform bounce, sure footing and provides dynamic response to body impact while reducing fatigue on players’ legs, ankles and feet. The multi-layer resiliency lengthens the orthopedic life of players of all ages.
In late April and early May a post-tension concrete base was poured on tennis courts one and two and the basketball court behind the tennis courts. The base must cure for several weeks before the new Plexicushion surface is applied. Work for this part of the project is scheduled for early June.
The Plexicushion substrate, a special blend of latex, rubber and plastic particles, forms a resilient layer that absorbs body shock and reduces muscle fatigue. The acrylic surface provides long lasting color – medium green for the tennis courts and dark blue for the basketball court.
This project provided the same surface used in an earlier project on courts three, four, five and six. The project cost $132,000 plus $3500 in windscreen replacement. This project should provide an excellent surface for PebbleCreek tennis and basketball players for many years.
