In the vernacular, a wildcat oil man is one that on their own, bought mineral rights and drilled for oil. He worked mainly in Oklahoma and comes from an interesting background. His father was captured in the Battle of the Bulge but later escaped the Germans. When he made it back to Allied lines, he was nearly shot because of his German last name. Had the Allied soldier been more impulsive, PebbleCreek would be shy one resident. He enjoys his life and is a regular at the Wednesday karaoke night.

When asked about the origin for his affection towards the Mercedes line of automobiles, he said he liked the diesels because of their longevity, ease of maintenance and overwhelming practicality. Some people like Mercedes for romantic and totally impractical reasons but not Don. He admittedly noted that he strayed from the flock and drove a Lexus for a while, but went back to Mercedes. His finding virtue in the diesel’s practicality will never be denied. He has owned three diesels and now has rewarded himself after years of hard work with a GLS 450.
