Desert Mashie Golf Club held its 69th annual Invitational Golf Tournament May 5 through 7, 2017. Our own PebbleCreek Resort was showcased as the venue. Golfers and non-golfers came from five western states along the West Coast. A great weekend was had by all. Several residents and businesses in the area came out in support of Desert Mashie’s efforts to give boys and girls in our Junior Golf Program the opportunity to learn and play the wonderful game of golf. Many of the children who have gone through the program learned skills not only in golf, but etiquette and honesty and are now productive members of society. With our Scholarship Program we give them a financial start to further their education.

Special thanks to our major sponsors RJP Estate Planning, Hensley Budweiser, Rodeo Ford, Ballard Spahr, LLP, Southwest Airlines and Solar City. Our local realtors Ron Smith, Karen Reuland, Mary Ann Evans and Rodney Jackson also gave their support. The PebbleCreek golf and catering staff pulled out all stops to accommodate the event.

It was a weekend filled with golf, non-golfer activities, music, vendors, good food all three nights and entertainment Saturday night featuring Rebecca Bond, the 2011 finalist on TV’s American Idol. For those of you that missed it, you’ll have another chance same time same place next year 2018. We are a 501 C (3) organization and donations are always accepted to further our Junior Golf and Scholarship Programs. Our mission is to decrease the number of youth who are at high risk of becoming involved in gangs or subject to street violence; promote a healthy recreational, social and educational environment for youth regardless of color, creed or nationality.
