PebbleCreek’s own Carolyn Suttles was president of the Desert Mashie Golf Club for the last five years. Her first-year goal was to get the club into the Arizona Golf Hall of Fame because of its historic legacy and contributions to golf. As Carolyn ends her term as president, it has come full circle. Desert Mashie Golf Club was inducted into the Arizona Golf Hall of Fame on Nov. 23, 2021, at the Paradise Valley Country Club.
The Desert Mashie Golf Club, one of the oldest independent clubs in Arizona, was founded in 1946. It did not practice, permit, or condone segregation or discrimination in any form because of color, race, creed, religion, national origin, or gender orientation, in order to foster the love of golf and expand the sport in the community.
