Desert Harmony Trio Entertains

Desert Harmony Trio: Greg Goss, Leslie Henson, and Howard Brodbeck

Melissa D’Onofrio

After our short March 8 general membership meeting, we were treated to a special musical performance by the Desert Harmony Trio (DHT). Members are Greg Goss, Leslie Henson, and Howard Brodbeck, who are all PebbleCreek residents and have been performing together for nearly two years.

The DHT entertained us with a lively variety of songs from the ’60s and ’70s, which brought back fond memories of our more youthful days. The group entertained us by performing a sampling of our old favorites, such as “Peaceful Easy Feeling” by the Eagles, “Take Me Home” by John Denver, and “Chains of Love” by The Beatles. Many of us were surprised to learn that “Leaving on a Jet Plane”, made popular by Peter, Paul and Mary, was actually written and originally recorded by John Denver.

The trio performed beautiful vocal harmonies while playing guitars, harmonica, tambourine, and occasionally mandolin. However, their final song, “Nowhere Man” by The Beatles, was performed almost entirely in acapella, which gave us the chance to better appreciate each member’s vocal talents and the group’s beautiful three-part harmony. Thank you Greg, Leslie, and Howard for an entertaining evening!
