The PebbleCreek (PC) Democratic Club is holding a Roaring 20s Party on Oct. 25 at the Tuscany Falls Ballroom. The party starts at 5:30 p.m. with social time and checkin, and the doors will open for the ballroom at 6:15 p.m. Dinner is a Mediterranean buffet, with shrimp and chicken kabobs. There will be a DJ and dancing for all the “gangsters and flappers” in attendance. The cost is $45 per person and the event is open to all who want to join in the fun! Tickets can be purchased by mailing or dropping off your check (made out to the PC Democratic Club) to Frankie Veltri at 4054 N. 155th Lane, Goodyear, by Oct. 15.

At the club meeting on Sept. 3, Ricardo Reyes, executive director for VetsForward, was the primary speaker. VetsForward is an organization driven by veterans dedicated to defending democracy through grassroots advocacy.

Also at the meeting, Chuck Veltri, chair of the new Veteran Service Committee, announced that they collected school supplies in support of a School Adoption program. Prior to the meeting more than 3,100 items were distributed to the Agua Fria High School and the Lattie Coor Elementary School. Additional supplies were brought to the meeting for the two schools, and those were delivered in early September to the schools. Chuck also shared that members had contributed over $500 to buy shoes for students at the Lattie Coor Elementary School who were in need.

The primary speaker at the Oct. 8 PC Democratic Club meeting will be Nicki Indivacitch from Save Our Schools. Social hour begins at 6 p.m. and the meeting starts at 6:45 p.m. Join us at the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom for a great evening. All are welcome.
