Let’s welcome fall with a far out, groovy dance! Join the PebbleCreek Ballroom Dance Club Friday, Sept. 29, in the Tuscany Falls Ballroom for this fun and memorable time. The cost is $10 per person for members and $15 per person for non-members. The cash bar opens at 5:30 p.m. There will be free dance lessons by Keith at 6:15 p.m. The dance begins at 7 p.m. and goes until 10 p.m. Music will be by Songs by Vito, playing your favorites and songs by request. Suggested attire is Hip & ’60s Country Club Casual.
Are you hip? Can you dig it? The Twist, Watusi, Mashed Potato, and Pony Are Born! Incredible rhythmic music was everywhere and the dances that we know now by fun descriptive names became a part of everyone’s life in the ’60s. The Twist, of course, was the most famous. Swing dancing still had a strong grip, but other styles such as the Detroit Ballroom, Locking, and Popping also became normal.
The 1960s is the decade that defined rock music. Jazz, pop, and folk music all gathered devoted listeners in the 1960s with a clear split between “hard,” rebellious rock of the 1950s, and lighter, “soft” rock—which sounded a lot like pop music. With ballroom dance, we blend some of our favorites such as the Cha-Cha, Rumba, Salsa, and the Hustle, to compliment this amazing era of dance. Please join us for an evening of fun, laughter, times forgotten and remembered, and stories you will share with your neighbors, friends, and guests. DJ Vito is there to play your favorite tunes, also available for requests.

Tickets go on sale on Tuesdays and Thursdays in September from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please mark your calendars for Sept. 12, 14, 19, 21, and 26, at the Eagle’s Nest kiosk. Cash or checks only. Checks are payable to PCBDC. Your lovely host for the evening is Kim Carter.
