Goodyear City Councilmember, and longtime PebbleCreek resident, Wally Campbell is the Southwest Valley Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Public Official of the year. She was recognized at the chamber’s annual awards gala on June 17. It’s one of the most prestigious business awards ceremonies in the region and recognizes outstanding businesses, organizations, and individuals who have made a positive impact in business and the community.
“I am honored and humbled by this award,” said Councilmember Campbell. “The Southwest Valley Chamber of Commerce is a vital part of our city, and I am proud to support our local businesses and help promote sustainable economic growth for our residents.”
Councilmember Campbell was first elected to the Goodyear City Council in 2011. She currently serves on the Southwest Valley Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, where she advocates for small business owners and economic development in the region. Councilmember Campbell also has a deep commitment to service and works on many non-profit boards, including All Faith Community Services, the Assistance in Health Care Board of Directors of Cancer Treatment Centers of America, and Hope Communities Services.
Councilmember Campbell currently serves on the Maricopa Association of Governments Human Services and Community Initiatives Committee, and on the League of Arizona Cities and Towns Public Safety, Military Affairs and Courts Committee. She is Past Chairman of the National League of Cities Military Communities Council and Immediate Past President of the Women in Municipal Government. She currently serves on the National League of Cities Human Development Committee.
Councilmember Campbell has previously been recognized as the 2016 Civic Leader of the Year by Leadership West and the Impact Award by Water Now Alliance in 2017.
